" Funding genetic testing to find a proper diagnosis to create the right solution."
Meghan Yarnall, the founder and President of Show Me Your Genes,
is the mother of a special needs child with a rare mutation of the SOX5 gene
(Lamb-Shaffer Syndrome) and a special needs advocate. Meghans daughter
Gwendolyn was the inspiration of Show Me Your Genes which was brought
to life because of the challenging process of finding a diagnosis for her.
It took a geneticist in Boston to help Meghan and Gwendolyn finally have
the test they needed paid by insurance after a 2 1/2 year battle with doctors
and insurance companies. She then knew she had to do something to help
families through this process.
Meghan's background is in banking which she has been in for over 10 years
most recently at a local community bank where she lives in the Philadelphia suburbs. She grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and found her niche helping small business and real estate developers by offering them a banker who is focused on the relationship. Through her skills and successes in banking Meghan has found it to be in her blood to network, meet people and listen to their stories because everyone is so unique. This follows through in all parts of her life as she is a true advocate for special needs families offering assistance to anyone she comes across.
In her free time, Meghan enjoys spending time with her two daughters, her husband and two Shih Tzus, Daphne and Freddie. You can always find Meghan listening to music, riding her Peloton or writing her blog (sox5sunshine.com) while she isn't with her family or working. If you can't find her in any of those places, look no further than the beach or someplace quiet with water near by!
